    Hey guys,
I have a company that wants to run an AU and NZ website, and the themes look identical. I’m running Multi Site Manager and upon finishing the dev on the NZ site I was hoping to be able to export the whole NZ template group, and then use that for the AU website. I’m not interested in re-setting up over a dozen template groups and far more templates.

So after copying all of the template files from templates/nz_site into templates/au_site, despite “Save templates as files” being enabled, copying this template group over has had no effect (the old initial single template still shows in the back end and I can’t see any of the templates reflected in the file structure). Yes my permissions are 777.

What I was hoping to do is in the templates directory just have a symlink making au_site a link to nz_site so they share the exact same files (always).

However as mentioned EE isn’t playing ball with detecting the templates.

    Any ideas?

Have you followed these steps http://ellislab.com/expressionengine/user-guide/cp/sites/createsite.html

Sites under the Multiple Site Manager have their own preferences for saving templates as text files. As such, when setting up a new Site under the Multiple Site Manager, you must set up a new location for saving those templates.

When importing or duplicating to a new Site in the Multiple Site Manager, if you wish to use existing templates which are saved as text files, then the template directory must be manually copied to the directory for the new Site.
