I moved a site from the development server to the main site as a subdomain but when I set URL to your Control Panel index page in the general settings with the new sites URL, when I click Submit it reverts back to the old sites URL.. any reason for this?

Having the same issue. I have double checked the permissions on the config file, but still doesn’t work. Any ideas? nyc did you ever get this resolved?

Can you check config.php file if setting this config variable within it:
$config['cp_url'] = 'http://yoursite.com/system/index.php';
