I have been having major problems hosting my ExpressionEngine2 site on Netfirms. First, all blank php pages mysteriously had a “0” in the corner. It didn’t seem to stop the site from functioning properly, I’d just see it after I logged in or updated an entry. It also appeared when I created a blank php page, so no code whatsoever still generated a 0.
Suddenly, at a time when no updates had been performed on the site for about a week, the webiste was completely broken. I saw the home page, but the links were mostly broken. Nothing helped. I reinstalled it several times. The website works perfectly well on our Hostgator account and locally too. I take the supposedly corrupt files and database and see them working just fine on the other servers (after updating the urls of course).
Nefirms support insisted that is was an error on my end, though they could not provide any answer for the php “0” glitch.
We are now temporarily redirected to the staging site on our Hostgator account. We decided, due to the amount of email accounts the client has on Netfirms, to host the site on Hostgator and continue to host the emails on Netfirms. Of course, any time we change the nameservers, the Netfirms email stops working and I don’t know enough about mail records to do anything but contact both company’s support each time.
My question is, does anyone else have such problems with EE on Netfirms?
