I am trying to change the design of the member/register template. i can modify the from section but i can not seem to find the template that renders the view with the header and footer. Any idea of where i might find the file that is responsible for laying out the footer and header?

You’ll find them under Design > Themes > Member Profile Templates

When i go into Design / Themes / Member Profile Temlates / Default / Registration Form and erase everything from the template so that it is completely empty of all code and than go to the front end to see the result i still see the header and footer that has expressionengines default theme design. I need to get ride of those two things. Any idea where those are coming from? I have attached an image of what i mean as well. Thank you

    You’re welcome 😊

You could save yourself some time & trouble if you went for an add on or module though. There are a few good ones out there, such as SimpleRegistration or ZooVisitor. Neither are free, but $19-$59 vs the nightmare of going through those templates ...
