I can’t really find where to ask for pre-sales questions (pre-sales forum is read-only) so I’ll just post it here.

    1) Is there a page that have detailed information about ExpressionEngine features, i.e. what are its core capabilities, does it have built-in e-commerce, download manager, does it have some sort of content types, etc.

    2) Is there an admin demo that we can try out before purchasing?

    3) The same also with the Forum add-on, it would be nice if there’s page that list all of it’s features and possibly and admin demo.

Can someone respond to my queries above?

Basically, I’m looking if the core has functionalities similar to this: http://wp-types.com/

Pre-sales questions can be emailed directly to sales @ ellislab.com.

EllisLab just announced the return of Core - which is a free but limited featureset version of EE you can download to experiment with.  The download link is in the Store.

EE has every “content type” you can imagine, because EE is based on the approach of configurable and extensible fields assigned to channels. You create a content type by creating the necessary fields it takes to store that data.  There are also add-ons for some of the more common types (photo galleries etc) but they aren’t necessary, they only speed development and add UI niceties.
