    1. I’m testing MSM. Is it possible to provide the individual sites its own Control Panel access from their domain? If EE is installed on domain1.com and manages domain2.com, I want domain2.com to have its own Control Panel (meaning, users don’t need to go to domain1.com to manage domain2.com).

    2. Is there a way to limit what a user can access in Control Panel? For example, perhaps I don’t want users adding channels or touching the templates. Is there a way to restrict?

    Hi 99developer,

    Sure thing!

    1. I’m testing MSM. Is it possible to provide the individual sites its own Control Panel access from their domain? If EE is installed on domain1.com and manages domain2.com, I want domain2.com to have its own Control Panel (meaning, users don’t need to go to domain1.com to manage domain2.com).

If you follow the MSM setup User Guide, this is what you will have. Each site’s admin.php serves as the individual Control Panel.

    2. Is there a way to limit what a user can access in Control Panel? For example, perhaps I don’t want users adding channels or touching the templates. Is there a way to restrict?

Indeed, you can add/edit Member groups and the Group’s permissions via Members-> Member Groups.

Members and Member Groups are for the entire installation, but you can restrict Groups on a site-to-site basis. So Group A will be available in Site B, but you can tell Group A in Site B that it can’t use the Control Panel or even see Site B.

The approach I take with Member Groups? If I need a lot of permission, I make a new group based on the Super Admin group and then take away what I don’t need. If I need more restriction, I make a group based on the Guest group and add access as needed. YMMV.

    Cheers,

Nope. That’s about it for MSM for now. Thanks Dan!
