Hi, while I was playing around with some things, I added a ping server. Now it shows up checked on all my channels and it’s nowhere to be found on the default ping servers page. Any idea how I can get rid of this?

    Hey portstreetdesign,

    Hmmm. That’s odd!

What version of ExpressionEngine are you currently using.

    How did you remove PING?

    Thank you,

I’m on 2.5.3. I’m not sure what you mean by how did I remove it. I forget how exactly I added it - I feel like I did it when i was within a channel entry, but I can’t replicate that. Now it shows up checked on all of my channels.

    Hello portstreetdesign,

Gotcha. It really should not be check on all your entries. That’s not how that works. So we need to look at that.

What if you remove the ping servers? Does that get rid of the option on all your entries?

    Please let me know.

I may need to get in and take a quick look.

    Cheers,

    Hi Shane,

I’m attaching a couple screenshots to show you what I’m seeing. Ignore that it says Postmaster, I had given it that name. The one screenshot is the channel entry options panel where it shows up checked. The other screenshot is the default ping servers panel, which shows nothing. Is this where I should be seeing the ping server to delete?

    Hey portstreetdesign,

Okay. Man, that is so strange.

One last thing before I maybe log in.

Can you check the DB? Do you have phpMyAdmin installed or can you use the command line?

Check exp_ping_servers and delete anything if it is there. If there is something there, then we need to file a bug because removing it from the Control Panel should remove it from the DB. I am going to test that now for myself, but if you can confirm this as well, the bug shall be filed.

    Thank you,

Yeah, I checked phpMyAdmin and it was filed there. I removed it and it’s no longer showing up.

    Hey portstreetdesign,

Thank you for your help in tracking down the bug.

    Filed the bug report here.

Please comment on the report to stay up to date on it’s progress.

Is there anything else I can help with?

    Cheers,

That should be it. Thanks for your help! Just want to point out, to prevent any confusion in fixing the bug, that I never actually deleted the ping server from my control panel after adding it, it just wasn’t showing up anywhere.
