I want to create a website for a client. The structure consists of several levels. The client should easily make changes later?

    Structure (for example):

    - Home
    - About us
    —- Level 3
    —- Level 3
    ——Level 4
    ——- Level 5
    ——Level 4
    - News
    ...

How would you proceed. Because there isn’t a tree sitemap view.

    Thanks

I just read http://markboulton.co.uk/journal/adaptive_content_management - which makes a clear delineation between ” Content Management Systems (CMS) and Web Publishing Tools (WPT)”

EE is a CMS, not a WPT.  I think what you are looking for is a WPT.

There are add-ons to make EE work as a WPT, but more and more I’m convinced we should be consulting clients into understanding that the web is no longer about pages and hierarchy, and more about content and a smart CMS that enforces the architecture of a site.

    Hi bs2011,

Thanks for your interest in ExpressionEngine and welcome to the Forums!

ExpressionEngine can certainly be built to handle what you’re asking, but as Mike points out, it might not be the best fit.

One constraint would be the client’s budget. Building EE to meet this kind of need could involve a few add-ons that.

Can you give a few more specifics of your client’s needs? I’d love to be able to give you a solid answer.

    Cheers,
