Just wondering if there is a way to grab an image from a remote URL and upload this to an EE file upload destination (as defined in “File Upload Preferences”)?

I’m delving into the Moblog module and using ifttt.com to generate an email containing the image URL to any new images I upload to Instagram. Rather than just reference the image on Instagram i’d like to automate the process of uploading the file to my EE site.

    Hi rmhayler,

There’s not a way to get EE to pull in files via URL, but if you could get ifttt.com to send an email with the actual image attachment itself to EE, then Moblog could add that image file to the File Manager. Does that help?
