    Hello Chapinsito,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.

Installing ExpressionEngine on Windows is totally doable. I know that several folks are running on XAMP, though not my favorite, it’s popular among the Windows crowd. Where are you running into issues? What kind of errors are you seeing?

Yes, ExpressionEngine will work on Hostgator. Just follow the installation guide and you should have no porblems.

I hope this helps! Please let me know if there is anything else I can help with.

    Cheers,

I into hostgator: their system is not compatible with windows 7
They make download filezilla to have access to my server.
I am in there right now.
I am looking to start the expression engine wizard and don’t know how.
    I looked
Going up and down and cannot do it.
I am sure is in front of my face, but I just don’t see.
Some assistance here, please. Thank You.
    and walked me trough!!!

    Hey there Chapinsito,

So it sound like you have all your files uploaded to the server using FileZilla for at FTP client. Excellent.

Now you are going to switch over to the browser and navigate to your website. So http://www.yourdomain.com and then add admin.php to the end, after the slash. Like the below directions state:

    4. Run The Installation Wizard

Point your browser to the URL of the admin.php file you uploaded. For example: http://example.com/admin.php

Follow the on-screen instructions to install ExpressionEngine. Note that if you choose the “None - Empty Installation” Site Theme during this step, your site’s homepage will appear blank since no templates will be created automatically for you.

Once the Installation Wizard is finished, you must remove the following folder from your server:

    system/installer/

    I hope that helps!

    Cheers,

I call my host provider: Host Gator
they walked me trough the installation wizard
I wrote down the license and started filling up the installation wizard.
from there my host provider: host gator walked me through.
    I said thank you.

They took the time that is was a couple of hours, few phone calls
and finally I thought I had it.

    Ok

    I fill up the wizard

    hit install

    or whatever it says

and it gave me an error.

    nothing happen.

I call back again to my host provider

I am sorry to hear you are running into this install snag.

What error does the wizard give you?

We don’t offer one-on-one chat support, but I’d be more than happy to help you here, Chapinsito. When you try to install EE and run into errors, what are those errors exactly? Could you copy them here for us to investigate?
