    Hi guys,

I was just wondering if the Multiple Site Manager lets you serve have an EE installation on web host which is serving to a i.e. domain http://domainone.com, and to have a site running on that domain, and let you build a secondary site which will be served to a separate domain i.e. http://domaintwo.com

    Yes.

One EE install, one hosting account, MSM, two sites.

    Hi Sunnyland,

That’s exactly what MSM is for!

Just make sure your intended use fits with the requirements:

    • ExpressionEngine 2.0 or later
    • All Sites must reside on the same server
    • If using sub-domains or domains, directories must be able to access your main installation system directory. Please see Setup Domains and Sub-domains for more information.
    • License holder must be the owner of all Sites

Let me know if you have any other questions!

    Cheers,

    Very cool.
Are both sites going to be covered by the one license then?
Or is an additional license necessary?

    Hi Sunnyland,

Are both sites going to be covered by the one license then?
Or is an additional license necessary?

    Here’s the breakdown:
Purchase the appropriate licensee of ExpressionEngine. This covers the first site.

Purchase the appropriate license of MSM. This adds 2 additional sites to ExpressionEngine.

In summary, you need one EE license and one MSM license to run up to 3 sites. If you need additional site, those can be purchased separately for MSM while using the same EE license.

    Does that help?

    Cheers,
