I have a Select Dropdown field that is being populated by a field in a different Channel Field Group.  I’d like it to list its items alphabetically, but it appears to be going by Entry ID instead.  Is this configurable? If not, what code can I edit to accomplish this?

    Thanks,

    Matthew

    Hey there Matthew81,

Can you please show me what you have so far in way of code?

You might think about using an embed to get the order first, unless this is something you can put the sort on within the forms HTML.

    Please let me know!

    Cheers,

This doesn’t deal with any code (well, none that I’ve written) as it’s not a question of templates or front-end display.  I’m just talking about a channel field (select box) that is auto-populated by a field in a different channel. It’s only available (or even visible) in the CP.  Basically, when adding a new entry, I want that dropdown field to be sorted alphabetically, but instead it’s being sorted by the Entry ID of the channel it’s being populated from, which makes it exceedingly difficult to use.

    Hey Matthew81,

I understand now, you are in the Control Panel.

As far as I know there is no Accessory or Add-On that would allow you to do this.

Sounds like a great Feature Request!

Is there anything else I can help with?

    Cheers,
