I am running into an issue with the add-on SuperSearch from Solspace. I first decided to send a support request into Solspace but they weren’t able to provide any guidance on the issue. They suggested contacting EE support instead (http://www.solspace.com/forums/viewthread/13489/).
When a users enters search keywords and uses typographic quotes (”) or straight quotes (’), they are given an error message “The URL submitted has disallowed characters”. Here is the example url (http://wildmontana.org.s146483.gridserver.com/search/results/search&keywords;=“Brian+Sybert”/). I suspected it was an issue with the add-on but there developers claim it must be an issue beyond SuperSearch.
I am running EE 2.5.0 and am using a bunch of add-ons like Structure, Matrix, Playa, Freebie and a couple more. I also use the NSM Config Bootstrap (http://ee-garage.com/nsm-config-bootstrap).
Any ideas why typographic quotes and straight quotes are causing these errors?
