I am able to login to my site’s control panel using the Super Admin login without a problem. Under the Member Group Preferences, I am allowing a particular member group to access the Control Panel with the following Control Panel Access settings set to YES:

    Can access the control panel?
    Can access CONTENT section
    Can access CONTENT: Publish
    Can access CONTENT: Edit
    Can access CONTENT: File Manager
    Can access ADD-ONS: Modules

All other Control Panel Access settings are set to NO.

The following are set to YES in Channel Posting Privileges:

Can view channel entries authored by others
Can edit entries authored by others

I have granted the member group access to the relevant channel in Channel Assignment. When any user from that member group logs in, though, they receive only the white screen of death - no error messages of any kind. If I set “Can access CONTENT: Publish” to NO, the user is able to login and even to see the list of entries which are part of the channel assigned to the User Group; however, when they attempt to edit one of the entires, they are given the message, “You are not authorized to access this page.”

    EE 2.5.2, Build 20120606

What might cause the White Screen of death to appear only in this particular instance, and how can it be avoided? Any assistance is appreciated.

(EDIT: corrected the build number, which had a digit omitted)
(EDIT 2: Adding some additional information about settings in the Control Panel)

OK - it looks like this is the result of a third-party plugin that was modifying the Publish Menu for a channel that was not being assigned to this member group. Interestingly, it seems that the requirement of having “Can access CONTENT: Publish” set to YES in order to allow editing was added recently, as other sites we are running pre 2.5.x with the same third-party add-on do not require this to be set to YES in order to access entries for editing and, as a result, did not give me the white screen of death.

    This is resolved now.
