Looking over the documentation, it seems that the EE search module searches for content that is contained exclusively within channel entries.
Can it also search for content that is added onto templates? For example, if every template on a given site has an introductory paragraph, if a user wishes to find something based on text in that intro paragraph, would they get results?

Hi ideadigital,
No, the search module doesn’t index or search content that’s entered directly into templates. It would be better to enter that content into a channel entry and show it on the front-end using channel entries tags since this allows the end-user to edit that content in the CP. It also makes it searchable.
