    Hello.

I’ve installed the cookie consent module.

Client seems to have either turned it on and off again, or played around with the cpanel login settings eg: sessions &/or cookies.

Anyways, no-one can log into the cpanel now.

You enter un and pw and check the cookie consent box, but login page just refreshes and doesn’t take you into the cpanel.

    Have amended

    $config['allow_extensions'] = 'y'

to ‘no’, cleared cache several times, tried different browsers and operating systems, but still no cigar.

    Any help appreciated.
    Best
    Peter

Just checked the cookies settings via the web developer toolbar.

Upon adding in un & pw and checking the ‘allow cookies’ checkbox, no cookie is actually being created.

Be on the lookout for an email from me on this one, mathalete. I think I’m going to need a first-hand look.

Just posting a note here to let onlookers know that we’re working with mathalete privately on this for the time being. I’ll post an update back here once we have something to share!

    Hi E2design,

I followed up with Kevin to see what conclusion he came to with mathalete.

It boiled down to having a value set for Cookie Domain in the Control Panel.

Can you check in Admin-> Security and Privacy-> Cookie Settings: Cookie Domain?

Do you have anything in that field?

I look forward to your reply!

    Cheers,

    Dan,

    You’re not getting the point!
I’m not able to login to the CP anymore. Even changing the config to not allow extensions doesn’t help me to login again.
It keeps struggling over the cookie consent status that, because I can’t login I’m not able to remove or change.

    Hey Rob,

Could you update the cookie domain by adding this to your config.php file?

    $config['cookie_domain'] = ".example.com";

Where “.example.com”, of course, is your site’s actual domain name. That should take care of it, letting you get back into your CP.

Added the suggested line to the config.php. Emptied the browser cache and tried over, but with no result.

The login panel still shows the “allow cookies” checkbox, you have to tick that otherwise it returns the cookie failure message.
Login with the cookie checkbox checked, keeps refreshing the page but still leaves me in the login screen without access.

    Hi,

Solved the issues by manually deleting the tables and references to the cookie consent module from the database 😉

Glad to see you were able to work this one out, Rob. Anything else we can help with?
