We’re ending up with a series of characters being added to ALL the URL’s of the individual pages of the site.  These un-wanted characters start with a # character…

For example (unwanted characters in bold):
    /support/information/support-videos#.UEShqkKE7IY

Would VERY much like to know how to remove these/stop this from being generated by EE!

Any help would be very much appreciated please!

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi mgx,

ExpressionEngine does not do that on its own. Are you using any tracking code or campaign monitoring Any 3rd party URL shorteners or anything outside of ExpressionEngine?

Are you using .htaccess in any way? Are there any other PHP scripts on the same host account, even if that aren’t being used?

    Cheers,

    Hi Dan,

Many thanks for the reply.  That’s helped me track down the cause - it was the ‘AddThis’ tracking code “data_track_addressbar” option.
Removed that from the tracking code config & it stopped appending junk to the URL.

    Regards

    Hey mgx,

Great! I’ve had this question crop up lately, and noticed it on a completely random site the other night.

If you need anything else, please let us know!

    Cheers,
