It has been brought to our attention members are now able to edit their posts even after a thread has been closed by the Super Admin / Forum Moderator.

Any ideas on what might be causing this?  We could not find anything in the search archives.

    Thanks,
    JT

    Hello WaterfowlZone,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.

What version of ExpressionEngine are you currently using and what version of the forums?

Can you tell me what you have look at so far in way of troubleshooting?

    Thank you,

From what I can tell this has always been allowed.  Where a user can edit his/her own post on a thread even if the thread is locked.  I ran across this thread in the future request forum: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/92388/

We are running EE version v2.1.3
    Forum version 3.1.2

If that is incorrect please let me know.

    Thanks

    Hi JT,

Your Forums and ExpressionEngine versions are matched, so that’s good. However, I will recommend an update to 2.5.2. There have been numerous bug fixes and feature enhancements since 2.1.3 was current.

What you are seeing is expected behavior. Closing a thread prevents new replies and discussion, but existing posts can be edited. There isn’t a preference to override that yet, so the feature request hasn’t been implemented.

Is there anything else I can assist you with?

    Cheers,
