I’m seeing this same issue using EE 2.5.2 and MSM. If I change the status from Open to Closed and save, the status does not change. This only seems to be happening in a single channel - status changes in my other channels are working properly.

Additional information on this ... this only happens in the Publish page for an entry. If I modify the status from the Edit screen (list of all entries in that channel), the status updates properly.

I think I resolved this one - at least in my case. Each of my blog entries is using a third party add-on (EEHarbor Polls). Seems like version 1.3 is updating the status of the entry, when really it’s the status of the poll it should be updating. The poll status can be set to Open or Closed, the same as the entry. There’s an update to 1.3.1 which resolves this issue.
