I have found some old threads mentioning that this is not possible, but am trying to import a large amount of member data for a client, and am getting email not valid errors because they contain apostrophes, and am wondering where you are on this…

While programmatically i can appreciate the difficulties, you are a large commercial CMS and i would have thought it a necessity to match up with email standards whereby apostrophes are allowed

A large contingency of Ireland i am sure would agree!

Are the apostrophes before the @ symbol?

This is something i have never encountered because i have never had to input an email with an apostrophe, but maybe it is worth submitting a feature request as it could be important.

    Hey jamesaa7,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

zizther is right, a Feature Request is probably your best bet.

I too have never seen an email address with an apostrophe in it. Do you see that pretty regularly?

    Cheers,
