Been reading the Twitter responses, can’t wait to try this out for one of my clients. One question, can it handle large databases? Say over 400MB. Has it been tested for that? If not, no biggie, just means I’d want to pre-test on one of our clients development site, since the size of their database has introduced a number of update issues before. But that’s only one client.

    Hi,

You should always pre-test it just to be sure it runs ok.

We did test it on a 300MB database and it took a while but worked. Apache timeout was set to high.
If database backup is an issue you can always backup the database with an external tool and skip it in the updater.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

    Hi Manuel

I find the docs not in all cases clear enough to make Updater do an update.

What would I enter for “Update File URL”?

    Hi,

Sorry about the docs, we are still writing it since we just came out with updater 3

The update file URL is just an alternative way of “uploading” the file.
For example using Dropbox file URL feature.

    Makes sense?

    Hey Stefani—

I’d recommend contacting DevDemon privately; support for third-party add-ons is not something offered on these forums, but DevDemon can help you out in their support system.

    Thank you!
