    Hey guys,

I have a pretty old site running EE 1.6.7. Recently it has come to my attention that the server it is hosted on has had it’s PHP version upgraded to 5.3.14.

I have several extensions running on the site, however one of them is causing errors.

If I try to login to the control panel, all I get after the login page is a blank screeen. I have managed to disable ALL extensions via a config variable override, which allows me to get into the control panel just fine once they are disabled globally.

The problem is, how am I supposed to track down which extension(s) are conflicting with the new version of PHP?

As soon as I re-enable extensions through the CP the screen goes back to blank. What I would normally do in the past is disable all the extensions, and then re-enable them one by one to find which one is causing the problem.

Any suggestions on a work around for this would be greatly appreciated.
    thanks!

    Hey Ryan,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

Trial and error is the only way to track down the offending Add-On. Did you update them all and verified that each one is compatible with ExpressionEngine 2.5.2?

Also, bumping does not do anything. The threads are in a queue and handled in the order they come in. 😊

    Cheers,

    Shane,

thanks for your reply. I have not touched the EE install as far as updating is concerned. I have not planned on updating the install to 2.x as of yet. the problem is that because PHP version was updated on the server, that is messing up one of the add-ons (I am assuming) that was used when the site was originally developed (2008)

I need a method to track down which is the offending extension however I have no idea how to go about that. As soon as I enable extensions globally I can no longer access the control panel in order to toggle each extension on/off .

    does that make sense?

    Hello Ryan,

Tracking down the offending extension is not easy. Can you rename a few of the Add-On folders and see if you can eliminate the offender through trial and error?

    Thank you,
