Rich text editor backspace issue

Hi, I’ve noticed some strange behavior when creating a new entry within the rich text editor.  In Chrome (21.0.1180.75 for Mac) the backspace key (well, the key on my macbook that says “delete”) apparently does nothing.  Shift+delete does perform a backspace however, and other browsers I’ve tested on this same computer (Firefox and Safari) don’t require the shift key to be pressed, only Chrome.  Is this caused by something on my system, in Chrome, or in EE?  Any way to standardize this behavior across browsers?

    Thanks,
    Pat

    Hi Pat,

I would say that is atypical behavior. I just verified using Chrome on OS X 10.8 that the Mac delete key does work - at least for me.

That it works properly in other browsers and the rest of your system points to Chrome as the ultimate culprit. Do you have any extensions installed in Chrome that might be a factor?

    Hey Dan,

It seems obvious now but yes, I did have a Chrome extension installed that was the culprit (Backstop https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/pidcjgldchekcoolelhbjfbnccjkckfj).  Thanks for pointing me in the right direction!
