    Hi there,

I have a Channel that stores office locations with telephone numbers and lon/lat coordinates.

I want my page to show a default office, but if the user gives permission to the browser, then show the telephone number from the office nearest their location.

Has anyone done this type of thing before in ExpressionEngine who might have some tips?

    Thanks.

I’ve used http://devot-ee.com/add-ons/ipgeo to set the initial country for a site that has locations in different countries. People can then use a dropdown to switch to another country if they need to.

Thanks Tyssen. Unfortunately this wouldn’t work in my case. We have 10 offices located in the UK and we just want people to automatically see the number from the closest office, if they give their permission to find their location.

ObjectiveHTML’s add-on, Google Maps for Expression Engine, does radius searches.  I’m sure you could set it up to deliver a simple search result on the basis of geolocation.  He provides top-notch documentation and support as well.
