I have a site with some members, not many, just a few hundred. Most are old accounts that are not used. We are adding a new site via MSM and some of these members are staff who raise their own funds (non-profit organization). They all have a 3 digit account number that people give to. I’d like to make their EE member_id the same as this account number. Is there a way to remove an existing member, or at least reassign the member_ID? I can see it there in the db and could make changes, but I’m not sure if it is stored elsewhere and we’ll get all kinds of strange behavior if we do that.

    You’ll also need to update the member_id columns in exp_member_bulletin_board, exp_member_data, exp_member_homepage, exp_comment_subscriptions, exp_cp_log, exp_email_console_cache, exp_html_buttons, exp_online_users, exp_remember_me, and exp_sessions.

Some of those like the sessions, console_cache etc probably won’t have any adverse affects if you leave them, but you never know.

And you’d probably need to check any tables added by third party modules to make sure they don’t have a member_id column too.
