On this page, I have an author photo near the end of the article (next to the About The Author content).

This is the code I’m using in the template to display that author photo:

    {photo_url}

In Internet Explorer, the image appears. In Chrome, it does not.

At first, I thought maybe the jpeg parameters were wrong, but the photo does display correctly in Chrome on this page (in the right-hand sidebar) - although on that page, I’m using the query module to display the photo.

If I look at the source in IE, this what I see as the result of the above code:

    <a href="http://www.insurancethoughtleadership.com/images/member_photos/photo_101.jpg">http://www.insurancethoughtleadership.com/images/member_photos/photo_101.jpg</a>

If I look at the source in Chrome, this is what I see as the result of the above code:

    " width=

I am using the same template code all over the site and this is the first time I’ve seen this problem, even though there are over 230 other articles on the site.

As I said in the title of this post, I’m baffled.

Anyone have any thoughts as to why this might be happening?

    Thanks,
    Frank

Both pages are working fine for me here on Chrome (Mac OS X 10.7.4/Chrome Version 20.0.1132.57).

Our of interest, what do you see via a proxy? http://anonymouse.org/cgi-bin/anon-www.cgi/http://www.insurancethoughtleadership.com/index.php/site/safety-risk-control/cyber-risk/

Thanks Michael. I can see the image when I view the page via proxy. And, in fact, now I can see the image when I simply visit the page in my browser.

Not sure what happened, but at least it’s working now.

    Thanks!

    Frank,
Does it happen when you are logged in to the CP? I ran into that same issue. I didn’t explore it but it sounds similar to what you were seeing.

Yes, that’s it exactly. Odd, but at least I know that it won’t be a problem for a regular visitor to the site.

    Thanks!

Hm… if it’s not showing when you are logged in, and you are a super admin, EE might be adding an error message above the start of the page code, and in the past, these can break the display of the control panel, and we had one actually break up the display of the site’s header this week.

I would view the source code and see if EE is add a little error message to your page code when you are logged in.

    Hey all,

Nice work here. I love seeing the community so active! You guys rock!

Frank, is there anything else you need help with? (ExpressionEngine related that is, not changing the oil in your car.)

    Cheers,

Hi Shane. Kurt is right - it’s only a problem when I’m logged in. I don’t see any error message in the code.

It’s strange, but I can probably live with it.

    Hey Frank,

Ok, before we close this, can you do me a favor, and open Chrome, clear your cache and cookies, and make sure you’re logged out of the site.

Can you pull up the page in question and make sure everything looks okay?

Now, if you log in to the CP as Super Admin, and view the same page, does it still display incorrectly?

If it does, I’d like to try and find out why the discrepancy between being logged in and out.

    Thanks.

Hi Kyle. Sorry for the delay in responding - it’s been a hectic couple of weeks.

As it turns out, the problem isn’t happening any longer. I did upgrade EE to the current version the day after I first reported it (and I was a fair amount behind on my updates - I think I was on 2.2), so the upgrade may have taken care of it.

    Thanks for wanting to help!
