    Hello,

I am doing a new install of EE and I got to the point where I am pulling up the admin file to begin the installation process and I get this error:

HTTP Error 500 (Internal Server Error): An unexpected condition was encountered while the server was attempting to fulfill the request.

I ran the server wizard and everything seems good there. I did content the host (eartllink) and they said there was nothing they could do since all of the server requirements have been met.

I know that I have the home directory set up correctly in both this file and the admin file. Any thoughts anyone?

    Thanks!

    Hello Heather,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.

A server error will be in the system logs, can you contact your hosting provider and ask them to look in the logs for the error?

Are you using an .htaccess file? If you are, please move that aside for now by renaming it.

    Thank you,

Hi Shane,  After reinstalling the system, it was the htaccess file! I didn’t think much of it, it was just there when they created the account but that was the culprit. Everything seems to be good now, thanks so much for your help.
