Having a couple issues with creating a new member group and allowing access to alter all aspects of member accounts and it’s not observing those rules.

For instance, the two main issues I’m dealing with are:

    1) Member group cannot change member group assignment when registering new members.
    2) Member group cannot change username for any members.
    3) We don’t want them to have to put in the password of the member to change member’s screen name, username or email.

    Here’s my settings:

    Security Lock: Unlocked
    Can view public profiles Yes
Can email other members via the profile email console Yes
Can edit own HTML formatting buttons Yes
Include Members in PUBLISH page multi-author list? Yes
Include Members in Site’s Member List? Yes
Allow Members in Site’s Mailing Lists and Related Abilities? (i.e. Group Available in Communicate section) Yes
Can delete own account - deletes all posts, entries, and comments as well Yes

    Control Panel Administration
    Can administrate members accounts Yes
Can change the group that a member is assigned to (Unlocked groups only) Yes
Can administrate member profile templates Yes
    Can delete members Yes

    Hey design132,

Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.

I know you are officially upgraded now to 2.5.2.

Does this issue still remain, or is this a different site?

    Thank you,

Hey Shane, sorry no this is a different site.  And being that I’m not so used to EE 2.0 I was wondering if maybe I was doing something wrong like not checking a setting.

    Hey design132,

    Gotacha.

1)Member group cannot change member group assignment when registering new members.

This is doable, but the other groups need to be unlocked to show up in the drop down.

    2) Member group cannot change username for any members.

Are you getting an error? You should be able to do this.

    3) We don’t want them to have to put in the password of the member to change member’s screen name, username or email.
Yes, this is required and expected.

    Does that help?

    Cheers,

Actually thank you for that explanation.  That cleared a lot of things up. All is working now. 😊
