I have forgotten a password for an install of EE1.6.9
The forget password isn’t working for me so am wondering if the password from the database can be decrypted.
    Any ideas?

I believe EE1 uses SHA1 so you can use this site http://www.stringfunction.com/sha1-hash.html to encrypt a new password and if you have access to the database through something like PHPMyAdmin you can take the newly encrypted password and update the exp_members record for your account.

    Very smart, thank you.
I did the password I thought it was and it’s the same string.

I have since tried my client’s standard logins and it just won’t let us login.
I hit login and nothing happens, not movement no error.

I checked the client’s password and their’s hasn’t changed either.

So passwords are correct, just not letting me in.

Any ideas, happy to start a new thread if need be.
    =)

p.s. Don’t know if this helps, but the URL throws this on the end after I try and login “?S=0&C=login&M=auth”
