Hi guys, I’m trying to figure out why pages I have are being served so slow. It’s not incredible slow but there’s absolutely nothing on the page. For instance the front page is basically a static page so I’ve run benchmark tests on each tag to see if it could be one of the plugins I was using but everything seems ok. Going through the forums it seems that the database could be the culprit but I’m unclear on how to check. I’ve attached a snapshot of the page load. Any links to other sources I may have missed or help will greatly be appreciated!

    Hi Donovan,

Thanks for posting to the Forums!

When troubleshooting templates, it’s really handy to get a look at the code. Can you post your template code in your reply?

While developer tools are great, with ExpressionEngine it helps to get a look at EE’s own diagnostics. You can enable this for your site in Admin->System Administration->Output and Debugging: Display Template Debugging? set to “Yes”.

This will show template execution times at the bottom of each page, but only to logged in Super Admins. That output will let us see where the template is processing the longest and we can whittle it down from there.

    Cheers,
