Hi, I’ve tried everything to resolve this and I’m out of ideas!

Overnight (without being informed I might add) my host updated Plesk and now I can’t log in to CP from Safari, Chrome or IE. Firefox seems okay for one site but not another.

    Things I’ve tried:

    • Clearing all the caches
    • Repairing & Optimising the database
    • Changing login to all session, or all cookies
    • Setting config.php debug to 2, which renders no issues on the CP login screen, or after I’ve been kicked back to it.

The URL suffix when I go to log in is:

    admin/index.php?S=0&D=cp&C=login

and once I’ve entered credentials and clicked enter, it quickly cycles through:

    admin/index.php?S=0&D=cp&C=login&M=authenticate
    admin/index.php?S=0&D=cp&C=login&C=homepage
    admin/index.php?S=0&D=cp&C=login

    and then we’re back.

I’m on EE 2.5.0 with PHP 5.3.13. I should also mention that the rest of the site works completely as expected, including general members logging in.

I’ve exhausted my idea so any further guidance would be greatly appreciated.

I actually had this problem once, but it turned out to be my firewall that were a bit to eager to cache data…
(guess caching on browsers could result in the same behavior)

I’ve tried resetting browser and no luck. I’ve tried resetting everything that has a reset option…

    Hey becordial,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem.

I think you will need to work with you hosting provider to find a solution.

I will move this over to the Community Help Forum where other users who have had to mess with Plesk may have some ideas for you.

    Cheers,

    Hi Shane,

Can you recommend any steps I can take to attempt to debug? My hosting provider unfortunately won’t assist my not being able to log in to software I’ve installed myself.

I’ve now tried copying the entire offending site to another server and am getting the same problem, so I don’t think it’s a hosting issue.

Can it be true that I’m the only person with this issue? I’ve spent 4 years working with EE and it’s really swept away any confidence I have to recommend it to clients as the go-to CMS.

Since they moved this to community forums, I’d start a new thread in tech support with the new info.
