How could this bug have gotten through testing? It’s not obscure; it stops anyone who has the Referrer Module installed, see these posts:

I understand that there are bugs in every release—my software as well. But bugs like this seem to indicate a significant hole in the testing process. A simple upgrade run from 2.5 to 2.5.1, of a test site with every standard EE module installed, would have caught this, wouldn’t it?
So how did it get through EllisLab’s testing process?
Every bug caught in testing is dozens of support requests that you don’t have to field, leaving time for users with more significant (or, perhaps less important!) glitches and improving the support response time that you often hear grumblings about.
