    Hi
I made a website with a very large entry input panel. The client says she needs 30 minutes to fill it in.
I (super admin) have no problem with filling. She (member) tried at work (windows IE) at home (Mac).
Even if she fills in less and tries to submit she is thrown out of the screen and nothing is saved.
It seems as if she is not allowed to fill in or she is not allowed to fill in a large input panel or she is not allowed to stay to long on a input panel page.
    Anyone a suggestion,

    greetings,
    Franka

What happens if she just enters just a few bits of data into the publish page and saves - does it save then?

Is she getting logged out of the CP, if you have long periods of inactivity (ie no page changes) EE will log you out automatically.

    Hi,

I think about 3 things are acceptable to save. But more or just 3 images she is thrown out of the system and has to login again.
I’m getting a litttle bit fustrated.
I tried to enter as a member and left the page open for more then 40 minutes, I’m still in business. I tried on a Mac (firefox/Safari) and a windows (IE).
She can’t upload .jpeg -> I have no problems. She has to fill the website so she wants to get started and I can’t find the problem.
And the website is on her provider.

    Greetings

    Krin

You can add and save content ok so we know that EE is working correctly. The problem must be at her end, either with her computer set up, ISP or something else.

Are you able to do an on-site visit so you can see what she is doing?

    Hi,
Yes I already intended to visit her to see how she works.
The funny thingh though is that she has the same problem at home (Mac) and at work (Windows). So perhaps you’re right that she is doing something different.
    I’ll be back
    thanks

    Hi,
I can’t visited her till monday, so I have to wait.
She told me that she had found a way to fill things up.
She quickly fills the 4 required fields and saves the entry. After that she can fill the entry and isn’t kicked out of EE.

    Hi
She found out herself what caused problems. She copy paste a text and then it crashed.
She types the text herself and all is fine. I’ve installed tinyMCE perhaps the button paste from word will do the trick as well.
Now she wants to add jpg’s but that doesn’t work at her work. She takes them home and uploads there.
She works in a kind of city promotion firm, where they have a lot of website written in all kind of programs. All works under Citrix on windows with IE.
Any idea how I can make it easier for her?

    greetings

If she’s been pasting from Word then the proprietry hidden MS code can cause loads of problems.

What size are the .jpg’s? Large files can time out while being uploaded - always best to resize to a managable size first.

    Hi,

Well the one I got from her is 6453x1822 pixels, 2.3 Mb. Pretty big.
So you can conclude that the environment in her firm gives a time out ?
Okay I’m going to tell her to resize to an acceptable size. And than EE resizes them again.
Thanks for the quick response and your time.

    greetings
