Thank you for posting your question here on the ExpressionEngine forums.
You can empty the table without worrying. Be sure to backup your DB, which I know sounds like I just lied to you about it no being something to worry about, but I say this because it’s best practice. Better safe than sorry.
Just don’t drop the table. I figure you know what you are doing, but I had a customer drop the table and thought that was the same as emptying it. Yikes!
