Recentely upgraded from 2.2.2 to 2.5, then yet another update rolled out and i updgraded again to 2.5.1 however i get an Error Number: 1091 on the update wizard.

My control panel says:

Your ExpressionEngine installation’s version (2.2.2) is not consistent with the reported version (2.5.1). Please update your installation of ExpressionEngine again. You have 1 unviewed items in the Developer Log.

If i rename my system folder so it uses the previous 2.5 install it correctly reports the right install version in CP and seems to run just fine.

p.s. there’s gotta be a better way to update EE 😊

I hear you on the easy of updating. I know the devs are working hard on improving that process.

It sounds like you had a failed update to 2.5.1 and should roll back and try again.

I have done the update a few times now and it’s gone smooth on two but not so great on one where I ran into a known bug.

from what I can tell from digging around, the config file had the version set at 2.2.2, i just manually changed it to 2.5 ran the update and it went fine. the config file then updated itself to 2.5.1, I would assume the first update to 2.5 failed to update the config file, everything else seems fine and dandy…for now.

I have seen this before, if the file was update, then you are probably good to go. Toe stepping.

I can leave this open for a bit if you would like, just to make sure.
