I also put this in the pre sales thread but I would like some community feedback also thanks 😊

    Hi,

I am interested in using Expression Engine to host maybe upwards of 30 websites. The cms would need to support the following:

    1. multiple languages: video, text and images for each language.
    2. I would like to be able to serve the content off of a CDN like cloud front, so internationalization will likely need to be url based.
    3. I would like to automate or outsource sys admin work such as data backups, server config/hosting etc.. Do you have any services or plugins to suggest for this?
    4. Ability to work easily with caching systems like memcached or varnish.
    5. Shared templates and plugins across all sites to reduce duplicate code.
    6. Development, staging, and production environments for each site.
    7. Easy system update work flow.
    8. Ability to limit content creators access to each site.
    9. Flexibility in where cms media is stored, i.e. s3.
    10. Ability to publish to facebook and twitter.
    11. Full content api.
    12. Forward facing websites that scale to meet high demand in a configuration like ec2 or rack space cloud.

I am comparing EE to a SAAS cms, I would ideally like to limit the amount of work that is spent on sys admin and database configuration since I will be starting with a team of 1 and while these items are very important, I would like to spend less time worrying about the setup of the system and cms, and more time focusing on the actual website it self.

Also any help with getting up to speed in EE2, I have built a number of small sites on EE1, but the sites I am about to build will be for multi-national corporations and not small local companies so I need to really make sure EE is up to the task and will make the most of my very short timeline. I will also have a bit of a learning curve with moving to EE2, multiple site manager and building a site with internationalization.

    Thanks,
    Cory
