    Hello,
I tried some actions described here with troubles during the upgrade process to 2.x but I didn’t got it working anyway.

Now I’m rolled back to the old installation 1.6.9 as this is a live site with deleting the new system folder, renamed the system_old (1.6.9 system) to system and as well the themes and index.php

I’m getting however this error and site is not accessible:

Site Error: Unable to Load Site Preferences; Invalid Preference Data

Can you please give some direction of how can I fix this asap?

Did you also save a backup of the database? The database structure would have been changed when you ran the upgrade script. You’ll want to roll back your database as well.

If you didn’t save a version of your database, can you contact your web hosting company and ask them if they keep backups?

I saw that there was wrong records - in the preferences tables. I had a backup, which for some reason through me errors while trying to import.
I’ve updated the pref tables manually with copy paste from the backup (really grunt work) and now that things are on starting point again.

    Hi vladyn,

I’m sorry for the trouble you have had upgrading!

Now that you are all rolled back, do you intent to try again?

Can you recall the errors you were having?

    Cheers,

I’ve mirrored the rolled version and tried on a different host - all passed smoothly. I had some questions, which I posted in a separate thread and your colleague Shane is on it 😊
    thanks Dan.

    Hey vladyn,

Glad to hear that Dan was able to help!

On the other thread, seems like sillibeer is doing most of the helping!

    Cheers,
