Does anyone know of a script or Mac app that allows the user to browse a MySql database (not EE)? I’ve searched high and low and not found anything.

Basically they need to browse or lookup certain bits of data, such as an email address, but not edit it. The user is non tecchy so needs to be relatively easy to use.

    I am a fan of Navicat - http://www.navicat.com/

Depending on their needs you could create a View for them or else set the MySQL user permissions so that updates were not allowed.

I’ve used Sequel Pro before when phpMyAdmin wasn’t an option and found it useful:

big time. We use Navicat for everything from minor queries, to full db backups, synchronization etc.

it becomes one of those things that when you don’t have it due to a client restricting things, you feel like you’re missing your right hand

Sequel pro for sure.  Everyone in our office uses it religiously.  That and the command line.

If for viewing only, MySQL Workbench is good enough.
