I’d like to setup a staging environment in which my client can create their international sites and then ‘launch’ them once done. However, since their current EE site is live….will we need to add the sites on the live DB (in order to keep everything in sync)??

Hello crzycode,
You are correct, keeping the databases in sync is going to be tricky. Before merging the two you will want to have some down time planned so that you merge without any changes being made.
