Hi folks
I have a site with around 7,000 entries and 6,000 registered users which I’m upgrading from 1.71 to 2.5. I was using Gypsy but have now uninstalled it from 1.71 as I hear that this can be a big sticking point when upgrading.
Basically what’s happening is that when running the wizard, all is fine until I get to the “Trackback Conversion and Archiving Options” page. I leave the default settings as they are on this screen and click “Update ExpressionEngine!” and basically it starts loading the next page but never gets there (see screenshot attached). I even left it overnight, but no joy.
I’ve checked the mysql tables and nothing appears to have been updated there. It also appears that congif.php hasn’t been updated.
I’m running php 5.3.3 on Debian Linux. I updated all the major addons I was using before trying the upgrade.
Is there anything I can check for? Anyone got any ideas?
UPDATE: I appear to be making some progress with this. I switched from Firefox to Chrome and got past this stage of the upgrade wizard. However, I now see the second screenshot (attached) which says the upgrade failed with an unknown error. The only clue is that at the time of failure it was updating exp_wygwam_configs and got to 0 of 11 queries.
Worth making all wygwam fields textarea fields and running it again?
Cheers
Jim
