When I click “View” under the View List column of the Mailing List module, or try to search the mailing list via “Email Search”, I receive this error.

    A Database Error Occurred

    Error Number: 1054

Unknown column 'ip_address' in 'field list'

    SELECT `user_id`, `exp_mailing_list`.`list_id`, `email`, `ip_address` FROM (`exp_mailing_list`) WHERE `list_id` = '2' ORDER BY `email` asc LIMIT 100

    Filename: modules/mailinglist/models/mailinglist_model.php

    Line Number: 284

    Any help is appreciated.

    Hi Bruce,

Thank you for posting to the forums!

What version of ExpressionEngine are you using?

Do you recall any changes made before you noticed the errors?

I look forward to your reply!

    Cheer,

EE 2.5.0.  I performed an upgrade from EE 1.7.0 to EE 2.4.0 and then 2.5.0 and then have spent considerable time configuring Cartthrob.

No changes were made to the Mailing List module settings other than the upgrades.  (Several weeks after the upgrade this is the first time I’ve looked at it.)  It’d be tough to roll-back as I have a considerable amount of hours in post-upgrade.

(Third-party Add-ons:  Cartthrob; CP Analytics, Deeploy Helper, Sitemap, Devot.ee update manager, NSM add-on updater, NSM Better Meta; Freemember; Edit this; Selected; ImageSizer; Low Replace; Dry Accessible Captcha.)

    Hi Bruce,

Can you run a test query for me?

Go to Tools-> Data-> SQL Manager and click “Database Query Form”

    First, run this query:

    SELECT * FROM exp_mailing_list

    Then this one:

    SELECT `user_id`, `exp_mailing_list`.`list_id`, `email`, `ip_address` FROM (`exp_mailing_list`) WHERE `list_id` = '2' ORDER BY `email` asc LIMIT 100

    Let me know the results.

    Cheers,

The result of the first query:

The query you submitted did not produce any results

The result of the second query:

    SELECT `user_id`, `exp_mailing_list`.`list_id`, `email`, `ip_address` FROM (`exp_mailing_list`) WHERE `list_id` = ‘2’ ORDER BY `email` asc LIMIT 100

Any ideas before the weekend?  I’d like to give them the ability to send out a mailing to their mailing list soon 😊

    Hi Bruce,

It sounds as though the mailing list tables are not present.

Go to Add-ons-> Modules and see if the status for Mailing List say “Installed” - if not, select to install it. If so, click “Run Module Updates” in the upper right.

    What was the result?

    Cheers,

The mailing list module was installed and running updates did nothing to resolve the problem.  I broke down and just uninstalled and reinstalled the module and things seem to be working now.  (However, I lost a mailing list :( )

So, I think we’re good to go.

    Thanks!

    Hey Bruce,

Sorry that you had to lose your mailing list in the process. But glad you are back up and running.

If you need anything else, please just let me know by opening a new thread.

    Cheers,
