I am having the same issue with RTE not showing after upgrade from 2.4 to 2.5. I am seeing it on two different websites I upgraded this afternoon.  One of them used Expresso as the WYSIWYG, while the other used Wyvern.

The upgrade seemed to work, but when I went to test editing an existing entry no WYSIWYG editor appears at all for either site.  The content is still in the field, but the field shows the HTML markup.  I tried converting the field to the new RTE to see if it made a difference, but the RTE does not show up either (I am attaching a screenshot).

On both of the content entry pages the file upload fields appear at the bottom of the screen below the standard page footer (screenshot attached), as well - and the upload functionality does not work.

These are two separate websites with different 3rd party add-ons, but both are having the same issues so I feel that this is almost certainly a 2.5 issue.

I do have .htaccess removing index.php and I have already tried adding index.php in the general configuration but it hasn’t done anything. Any help with this ASAP would be greatly appreciated.  Happy to provide admin access if it helps.

    Hello Jeff,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this problem. I am also sorry it took a bit to get to your thread! There was a lot going on with the other thread so I split you off into this new thread.

It sounds like a few different issues going on here, I am happy to help you sort this out.

I have seen the file upload box behave like this for a few reason. The first was a theme installed in the Control Panel that was not compatible with EE’s new version. The second is an issue with the themes folder, sometimes that needs to be re-uplaoded or the perms are not quite right. The last is language packs, do you have any language packs other than the default installed.

For the RTE, are you still using the Add-Ons in conjunction with the RTE?

Can you tell me what you did to enable the RTE? Did you update the Channel Entry Field to use RTE? (I know that’s basic, but sometimes overlooked.)

Please let me know about these few things and we can go from there!

    Cheers,

    Hi Shane

Both sites use the NSM Override CSS, however, the problems persists wether the override is in use or not.  I have tried deleting and re-uploading the themes folder, but this has not helped either.

As I previously mentioned, both sites have been using different WYSIWYG (one used Expresso, one used Wyvern).  After the upgrade I initially thought it was a problem with Wyvern, but after activating the new RTE and switching the field type to RTE it did not change anything.  No WYSIWYG shows up for any entry whether it is the RTE or one of the third party ones. The upload box issues also persist as well.

I also rolled back one of the sites to 2.4 and performed the upgrade again, but nothing has changed. I am happy to provide Admin/FTP access via email if it will help speed up the process to find a fix.

    Hello Jeff,

I think it’s best to get in there and take a look.

Please be on the look out for an email from EllisLab.

    Cheers,

Just to update anyone else having issues- looks like Matrix and Expresso needed updating and then we had some issues with browser caching.  But once that was squared away- no js errors and the RTE toolbar now seems to show up fine.

If you run into more issues, just let us know!
