I just upgraded to 2.4.0 from an earlier (don’t remember which—a couple versions behind) version and the Edit screen in the control panel broke, giving an error that exp_comments doesn’t exist.

This is true, since I never installed the comments module. I’ve fixed the error by installing Comments, although I would rather not have unneeded modules installed. Mostly, I thought you might like to know that the latest version appears to assume Comments is installed and is not handling cases where it is not installed correctly.

This is a bug in 2.4.0 unfortunately. You can read more about it in the bug tracker https://support.ellislab.com/bugs/detail/17380

Simple fix is install the comments module and it will go away. Or you can change some code as per the bug report.

    Cheers

    Hello AnotherMuse,

I am sorry to hear you are running into this bug.

mojacreative is correct, this is a bug which is fixed in version 2.5.

The bug lists a fix or you can install the comments module. Upgrading to 2.5 is an option as well. 😊

If you need anything else, please just let us know by opening a new thread.

    Cheers,
