I’m having an issue with file name conflicts with safe cracker file uploads. One visitor can upload a file named “resume.doc” and another can upload “Resume.doc” and another can upload “RESUME.DOC”. Everything is fine until we need to download the files to a local machine and they get overwritten and are hard to match up with the right entry.

I have tried to figure out a hack to change the file name, for instance to include a time stamp or the user id. But it seems to be beyond me for now.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hello Bryan,

I can not think of an effective way to do this. I also did some searching over at Devot://ee and on Google.

I can move this over to the Community Help Forum if you would like. Might find some more help over there.

    Cheers,

Thanks. I can’t imagine I am the only one who has run into this issue.
