The last I saw about the EE Gallery updater/converter was in this thread back in January: http://ellislab.com/forums/viewthread/209409/P18
Is there an update… 3 months later? I have three clients right now that would really like to move to EE2 but are unable too. We obviously want to move them as well.

At the moment, what you have referenced is the most up-to-date information regarding the Gallery conversion.
We are keenly aware of the obstacle this presents and I understand the frustration for you and your clients. Trust me, when we have more information the whole world is going to hear about it.
