Dynamically populate field in channel?

Hi All,
I was wondering if its possible to populate a channel field dynamically based on another field (within the same field group). Say I had a field “Price” and a field “Deposit”. Is there any way that I can add some code to the “Deposit” field so that it does a calc on the Price field? So the Deposit field would be populated using the (sudo) code:

=price*.25

This would happen as the CP Admin added a new item in the channel.
Perhaps there could be a [Channel >Fields> Type] drop down “Custom php” option?
