Does anyone know if there’s a way to set a Maxlength for the number of characters when using the Wygwam WYSIWYG text input field, like there is when using the standard EE text input?

    Thanks

    Hello Barrel,

I am not sure if there is.

A better place to ask this questions is on the Pixel & Tonic Website.

I am also going to move this over to the Community Help Forum. It’s possible that others have implemented this and may have some suggestions for you.

    Cheers,

    Hi Barrel,

Why would you want to use the WYSIWYG editor if you want to control the maxlength? This field is designed to hold full web page content with HTML source. This is why it doesn’t have the maxlength option. What are you trying to achieve?

If you want to be able to restrict your field I would use the text input box and allow full HTML in it. This way you can control the maxlength as you like. But obviously this won’t give you the WYSIWYG view.

    Mike
