    Hello everyone,

I’m the new web guy (with admitedly limited web background) at my company and we had developers build our website on an external host on EE 1.6.9
I’m attempting to move it in house and have spent almost a week on it with little success.  Currently I’ve moved the old MySQL db to a local one, I have all the files backed up, but every time i’ve been trying to upgrade I come across two problems.

The upgrade wizard does not recognize and cannot read the old template files even though I’m certain the permission are correct.

If I try and archive the templates manually and create the files myself, then all I get is a blank screen with the following error

Unable to load requested field type file:  ft.ftype_id_1.php.

Confirm the fieldtype file is located in the expressionengine/third_party/ directory

and the admin page doesn’t really work.  It exists without any background or functionality.

I’ve checked plug-ins, the SQL, and even tried removing everything down to the server and rebuilding the server but no avail.

    Help?

Got it to work! (It was looking for CSS files in the wrong folder)

    Thanks for your help.
