Hi, I’m currently setting up Expression Engine for an education-type site. I have question about tracking user-specific fields in each entry entry. By user I mean we will have 50 or 60 “member” users that will create an account but not be able to do anything in the back-end

I have a need for tracking a specific status for each entry for each user. Lets say I setup entries for Booklet 1, Booklet 2 and Booklet 3 in the “booklets channel”

When the user views Booklet 1, there will be a checkbox in there that says “completed” with a text field after it. When they click save, it will save that somewhere so I know that that user has ‘completed’ that booklet. I could add custom fields on the user for ‘booklet 1’, ‘booklet 2’ but that might get ugly.

Why not approach it with a separate channel for “reviews” with a relationship field to your “booklets” channel?  The relationship would be a hidden field in your Safecracker form.
