One of our clients requested a forum solution that allows anonymous posting (posting without registration).
We haven’t used EE’s forum module before, and looking through the feature list I don’t see anything about anonymous posting.
Is this something it supports out-of-the-box?

nope - you need to be registered to post in the forums.
I would tell your client that anonymous posting makes it easy work for spammers 😉
